Fill in the following:
Type:

Name/Host:
- Enter
_dmarc(just this, without your domain) - GoDaddy should append your domain automatically
Value/Data:
- Paste your DMARC record from DMARC Nerd
- Example:
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected]
TTL (optional):
- Leave as default or set to 600-3600 seconds
- Lower TTL = faster updates (but more server load)

- GoDaddy will process the record
- You should see a confirmation

- Look for your
_dmarcrecord - Should show type “TXT” and your record content
Option 2: Online DNS Tool
- Go to mxtoolbox.com
- Select TXT Lookup
- Enter
_dmarc.yourdomain.com - Run lookup - should show your record
Option 3: DMARC Nerd
- Log in to DMARC Nerd
- Domain settings
- Click Verify DNS Record
- Should confirm as verified
Troubleshooting
Record not showing up?
- Confirm you selected TXT type (not A or CNAME)
- Verify the Name is exactly
_dmarcwith underscore - Check that Value contains your full DMARC record
- Try clicking Add Record again
- Wait 5-15 minutes for propagation
GoDaddy says duplicate record?
- You may already have a DMARC record
- Delete the old one or edit it instead of creating new
- Only one DMARC record should exist
Changes not taking effect?
- Give it 10-15 minutes to propagate
- Try clearing your browser cache
- Check with an online DNS checker tool
Common GoDaddy Issues
- Automatic ”@” sign: GoDaddy may automatically add ”@” - remove it if present
- Domain suffix: GoDaddy adds your domain automatically - just enter
_dmarc - Quotes: GoDaddy may add quotes - that’s OK, they’re part of the record
What Happens Next?
- Your DMARC record is now live
- Propagation should complete within 15 minutes
- Email servers start checking your policy
- Monday morning, you’ll receive your first report
